Febrile neutropenia is a common and serious complication of cancer chemotherapy. This pathology characterized by diminished absolute neutrophil count elevated temperature. Despite recent therapeutic advances, febrile still major cause morbidity mortality among patients in Latin America worldwide. onco-hematological emergency condition also involves high risk complications healthcare costs. The objective this protocol was to develop reference tool for the evaluation management fourth-level hospital Ecuador provide guideline timely adequate care patients. present project implemented an extensive bibliographic search last 15 y which included guidelines scientific publications. appraisal research II grading recommendations, assessment, development instruments were used expert consensus evaluate level evidence each recommendation. document compiles updated information available on definition, factors, methods, treatment special situations with neutropenia.
